Whistler - Vallea Lumina - Summer


Join an evening excursion and follow cryptic radio transmissions and the lingering traces of two long-ago hikers to find the scenic trailhead where the real journey begins. This pathway leads toward a place filled with beauty, and proof that the legends of Whistler are true. 
Moment Factory, a global leader in video, lighting, sounds and special effects will bring Whistler’s forests to life this summer with a brand new show. This 1.5 km trail through an old growth forest will take visitors of all ages on an hour-long multimedia night walk in pursuit of hidden wonders.

Tour Length: Approximately 1 hour in the forest.
Rating: Beginner
Showtimes: Nightly during peak season, select days during off-peak season. Showtimes starting at sundown, every 30 minutes. Exact times will vary depending on the time of year.

Meeting Location: Follow any map app to Sixteen Mile Creek Forest Service Road, Whistler BC, just a 10 minute drive north of Whistler Village. After turning off the highway at our large wooden sign that says Welcome to Cougar Mountain, a short uphill drive through the forest will take you to the basecamp. Please arrive at your scheduled showtime. Complimentary parking is available at the venue.

What to Bring: Suitable footwear for walking, camera, bug repellant.
Suggested Clothing:  Warm layers, as temperatures can drop in the evening. Tours will run rain or shine, umbrellas not allowed.

Booking & Cancellation Policy:
  • 100% payment required at time of reservation.
  • Non-refundable. If the experience is cancelled due to extreme weather, we will exchange or reimburse tickets.
Note:

  • Operation of this tour is subject to the evolving COVID-19 situation. 
  • Waivers are required for all tours and you must have a legal parent or guardian signature if you are under 16 years of age. FIT clients sign waivers at an Adventure Group activity office. At least one person in each group must be able to read, speak or translate into English. Groups, where possible, will sign waivers at the hotel with a staff member present.

    DMCi will require Travel Agent to provide us the signed waiver when required as a part of the Terms & Conditions of Contract.
    DMCi sells Manulife Travel Insurance.  Please check with us for rates.

Notes about this Tour

  • The operation of this tour is weather dependent.   
  • Operators reserve the right to cancel this tour without prior notice.
  • Waivers:  Waivers are required for all tours and you must have a legal parent or guardian signature if you are under 16 years of age. FIT clients sign waivers at an Adventure Group activity office. At least one person in each group must be able to read, speak or translate into English. Groups, where possible, will sign waivers at the hotel with a TAG staff member present.
  • Transportation & Hotel Pickup: Not provided, please meet at Cougar Mountain Basecamp.  
  • Meeting Location: Meet at your scheduled tour time at Cougar Mountain Basecamp. Follow your map app of choice to Cougar Mountain Road, Whistler BC, just a 10 minute drive from Whistler Village. After turning off the highway, a short uphill drive through the forest will take you to the basecamp.
  • Suggested Clothing: Dress appropriately for the weather and the tour. It is recommended that guests dress in layers and bring sunscreen and warm layers for tours in the alpine. Weather can change quickly and without notice. 
  • Chaperone Policy: Ages 12 and under require a chaperone aged 19+ on tour with them.  Ages 13-15: require an adult chaperone 19+ to be at Cougar Mountain Base for the duration of the tour. For rafting activities, a chaperone is required to be on tour with anyone under the age of 16. For the Treetop Adventure, an adult chaperone 19+ is required to supervise youth ages 7-15 years old either participating in the activity or on the ground.  Ages 16+: Able to join all tours without a chaperone, granted the minimum requirements for the tour are met. For example, they must hold a valid driver’s license on RZR/Snowmobile tours.
  • First Aid: Guides for motorized activities have a valid 80-hour first aid certificate. Guides for non-motorized activities have a minimum 16-hour first aid certificate. Head river rafting guides are swift-water rescue certified and all have between 16-80 hour first aid certificates.
  • Intoxicants, Drugs & Alcohol: There is a zero-tolerance policy for any drugs or alcohol consumed prior to or during any activities. The service provider reserves the right to cancel tours if there is any indication that guests are under the influence.
  • Languages: This  tour is presented in English. Other languages or a translator may be available upon request.
