Enjoy beautiful mountain scenery and breathtaking vistas as you paddle down 9 km of the Athabasca River and through several mild-moderate rapids. The Mile 5 is a spectacular intro to white water rafting. 

Get a little wet and have a lot of fun on the Athabasca River. Travel with your small group to the put in point and raft the Mile 5 section of the glacier-fed river. This section of river is a great introduction to river rafting as it begins with an approximately 10-minute float before the class II rapids start. Experience the gentle thrill of some bumps and splashes on your roughly two-hour excursion.

Joining Instructions

RV Parking Lot

Pick-up and Drop off will be from the RV Parking Lot is located next to the Jasper Home Building Center (706 Sleepy Hollow Road), and is directly across the railway tracks from the set of traffic lights at the intersection of Connaught Drive and Hazel Avenue.

For Athabasca River trips please arrive 15 minutes prior to trip time (eg. 8:45AM for a 9:00AM trip time). For Sunwapta River trips, please arrive 60 minutes prior to trip time (e.g. 11:45 AM for a 12:45 PM trip time).

  • Travel Insurance – highly recommended. We require clients to provide us a signed Waiver in the event your client opts to decline your offer to sell Travel Insurance. DMCI Inc. sells Manulife Travel Insurance. Please check with us for rates.
  • Gratuities for Tour Guides/Driver cum Guides (Expected).
  • Cost of any RTPCR/Antigen Test or costs related to quarantine if applicable.
