Arrive in St. John’s on your own. Transfer independently to the Murray Premises Hotel located in a National Historic Site on the St. John's waterfront.  The rest of the day is free to explore the waterfront and sample the local cuisine at one of the several restaurants in downtown St John’s.

This morning you will depart on a tour of the city of St. John's and its surroundings, including Cape Spear, the most Easterly point in North America.

St. John’s is oldest colonized region in the New World.  Your tour guide will delight you with history, legends & lore of this colourful city.  Take a few moments to enjoy spectacular panorama from Cabot Tower and Signal Hill, possibly one of the most recognizable skylines in Canada. Stroll through a World War II gun battery on the cliffside. Look out for whales and seabirds and visit North America's oldest standing lighthouse.

Finish the day’s tour with an overview of the downtown St. John's shops and restaurants.

Today embark on an exciting journey, a true Newfoundland adventure by comfortable sailing boat from St. John's harbour, in search of icebergs and whales. Sail through “The Narrows” and past Cabot Tower enroute to the flawless waters Cape Stick which are home to the world’s biggest concentration of humpback whales.  Early in the season, sail past icebergs that are 12,000 years old and watch as Atlantic puffins frolic along the coastlines.

How to get to St. John’s NL  


By Air - Travelling to St. John’s by plane is a popular option, and major airlines fly in from multiple destinations. Flying time to St. John’s is about 1 ½ hours from Halifax, 3 ½ hours from Toronto, and about 5 hours from London, UK. There are regional airlines which service smaller destinations and operate flights within the province. Newfoundland and Labrador is served by scheduled airlines and charter services, and can be reached via national and international connections. Air Canada, WestJet and Porter fly here daily. Smaller airlines service airports in the province as well as the Maritimes and Québec.

Planning on driving? Most travellers can take the ferry from Nova Scotia to either Port aux Basques or Argentia, and there are ferry routes for travelling between the island and Labrador. You can also drive to Labrador from the mainland of Canada, via Québec.
