Sun Peaks with 4270 skiable acres of terrain, is the second largest ski area in Canada, just behind Whistler. With 130+ runs and 882 metres of vertical, and due to the smaller crowds on the slopes, skiers have the best available slopes.

The skiing terrain is spread across a several of mountains and offers a range of experiences.   Sunny Sundance Mountain with its mellow groomed runs is ideal for beginners and intermediates. For skiers seeking a more challenging experience, Mount Tod offers advanced terrain in open bowls, challenging gladded terrain, and long groomers.  The north facing Mount Morrissey features thigh burning cruisers as well as some steep ones.

Sun Peaks with its plenty of fantastic and groomed runs, is especially popular with intermediates. The resort has something for skiers with varying abilities with a split of 10% beginner, 58% intermediate, and 32% advanced. Eleven lifts including 5 quad chairs, 1 triple chair, and 5 surface lifts service the ski and snowboard terrain.

Typically, Sun Peaks receives 6 metres (236 inches) of snow in any season. Although this may be less than some of the other Canadian Ski Resorts, the powder at Sun Peaks is relatively dry as compared to Whistler.
