    Spanning over three million acres, Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks are a unique combination of two distinct ecosystems. From soaring mountain peaks reaching up to 14,000 feet and boasting breathtaking views, to the teeming wildlife calling the broad valleys home, each environment offers something special to explore. Glaciers, thermal features, and landscapes that have been affected by volcanic eruptions and forest fires all make for an amazing adventure.

    For eight days, you will journey through this incredible area as they learn about its geological history as well as its evolving ecology. Learn about how the land was formed from fire and earthquakes as well as how these forces continue to shape it today. Discover the plants and animals native to this region such as bears, elk, bighorn sheep, moose, wolves and more. Experience the beauty that comes with hot springs like those found in Yellowstone's Upper Geyser Basin or the stunning Snake River Canyon located in Grand Teton National Park.

    From lakes full of trout perfect for anglers looking for a challenge to amazing hikes that will take you up close with nature there is something for everyone here. Whether it’s enjoying a picnic lunch while admiring Mount Moran or learning about the geothermal features in Norris Geyser Basin you’re sure to be awe-struck with all there is to see and do in this fantastic place.     Upon arrival at Salt Lake City, make your own way to your hotel in Salt Lake City. Rest of the day free.

    Overnight in Salt Lake City, UT.
    Your guide will meet you at the hotel at 7:00 AM to kick off your journey to Jackson, WY. As you travel, your knowledgeable guide will share insights on the geology and history of the stunning landscapes of Northern Utah, Southeastern Idaho, and Western Wyoming.

    Today’s itinerary includes a stop at the fascinating Gros Ventre Slide area, where you'll have the opportunity to witness the effects of a historic landslide. You'll then continue on to explore the picturesque Jackson Hole Valley, with its stunning vistas and wildlife.

    Later in the day, you'll visit the historic town of Jackson, where you can immerse yourself in the local culture and discover its unique charm. For dinner, we invite you to explore the array of excellent dining options available in Jackson, from charming cafes to fine-dining restaurants.

    Today, we will venture into Grand Teton National Park to experience the breathtaking wildlife and scenery it has to offer. Our first stops will be at Schwabacher Landing and Mormon Row, where you can take photos of the wildlife and marvel at the stunning landscapes.

    Afterwards, we'll head to Jenny Lake for a scenic boat ride and an unguided hike to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point. As guided hiking is not permitted in Grand Teton National Park, you'll have the freedom to explore the area at your own pace.

    Continuing our journey, we'll head north to Jackson Lake and Colter Bay, where you can enjoy an afternoon of hiking and wildlife watching. Keep an eye out for the majestic animals that call this park home, such as grizzly bears, elk, and moose.

    As the sun begins to set, we'll return to Jackson for the evening and enjoy a delicious group dinner at one of the fantastic local restaurants. We hope you'll savor the memories made during this exciting adventure in Grand Teton National Park.

    On this day, we'll embark on an unforgettable journey through Yellowstone National Park. We'll start by driving north through Grand Teton National Park, where we'll witness the stunning scenery of the Rocky Mountains.
    As we enter Yellowstone, we'll explore the West Thumb Geyser Basin, Yellowstone Lake, and Hayden Valley, famous for its wildlife sightings. Next, we'll visit the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, one of the park's most iconic landmarks.

    Afterward, we'll head to the Norris Geyser Basin, where you can hike and explore the park's unique geothermal features. As we travel through the Madison River Valley, you'll enjoy scenic views of the surrounding mountains and rivers.

    Finally, we'll arrive at West Yellowstone, where you'll have a free evening to discover the charm of this western town. Whether you choose to explore its fascinating history, visit the local shops and restaurants, or simply relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings, West Yellowstone has something for everyone.

    Get ready for an exciting day of adventure as we journey through Yellowstone's Northern Loop. We'll start by traveling up and over Dunraven Pass, where you'll experience the park's highest point and breathtaking panoramic views.

    As we reach the Tower-Roosevelt areas, we'll have plenty of opportunities for wildlife watching and hiking, where you can spot some of the park's famous inhabitants, such as grizzly bears, wolves, and bison.
    We'll then take a break for a picnic lunch at a scenic location, where you can relax and take in the stunning surroundings. Afterward, we'll explore the fascinating Mammoth Hot Springs area, known for its stunning terraces of colorful minerals and geothermal features.

    In the afternoon, we'll continue our journey through the Northern Loop, stopping at various scenic and wildlife spots along the way. As we return to West Yellowstone, you'll have another free evening to explore this charming western town, perhaps visiting its historic sites, local shops, or restaurants.

    Today is dedicated to exploring the main geothermal area of Yellowstone National Park, starting with the West Thumb Geyser Basin, located on the shore of Yellowstone Lake. This unique site offers a fascinating combination of geothermal features and lake views.

    Next, we'll visit the iconic Old Faithful, one of the most famous geysers in the park known for its predictable eruptions. We'll also take time to explore the Old Faithful Lodge, a historic landmark in the park.
    As we make our way to Madison Junction, we'll make stops at other geothermal areas like Black Sand Basin, Grand Prismatic Spring, and Firehole Geyser Basin. These areas offer incredible opportunities to witness the power and beauty of geothermal activity.

    Along the way, we'll have several opportunities for hikes and wildlife watching. Keep your eyes peeled for bison, elk, bears, and other park inhabitants.

    Overnight in West Yellowstone, ID.
    Spend the morning exploring the natural beauty of Island Park, located just outside of Yellowstone National Park. Take in the stunning views at Big Springs and Mesa Falls before continuing southward.
    As we travel through Idaho, we'll pass by picturesque potato fields and make a stop at the Bear River Bird Refuge, a prime destination for bird watchers.

    We'll then follow the scenic route along the shore of the Great Salt Lake, with the option of visiting the Bear River Bird Refuge or Antelope Island if time allows. These areas offer unique opportunities to observe local wildlife and enjoy the stunning natural scenery.

    Finally, we'll arrive back in Salt Lake City by 6:00 PM, giving you plenty of time to unwind and reflect on the unforgettable experiences of your journey.

    This is the end of your Grand Teton & Yellowstone Explorer tour. Check-out of the hotel is posted for 11 AM.
