Itinerary

Welcome to Calgary, which marks the start of your Canadian Rockies Tour. Arrive at Calgary International Airport and complete your customs and immigration formalities. Head on your own to your hotel.  Your hotel offers complimentary transfer from the Airport to the hotel.  Once you have picked up your bags, please call the hotel from one of the toll-free hotel phone booths for instructions on where you must wait for your complimentary airport to hotel transfer. 

Check-in to your comfortable hotel and refresh yourself after the long flight into Calgary. Your Tour Director will meet you at the hotel lobby at 8 PM and brief you on what to expect on this fabulous Canada holiday, and check/exchange your documents. In the evening, order in and enjoy a few hours of relaxation.

A day full of beautiful sights and experiences await you today, so keep your cameras handy. Post a delicious breakfast at the hotel, head out to explore Banff, which is among one of the most famous places on your Canada tour.

On your sightseeing tour of Banff your Tour Director will offer insights on the history, culture, and stories of the Canadian Rockies and the town of Banff. Visit the stunning wide river Bow Falls and climb to the Surprise Corner Viewpoint for fabulous views of the Bow River, The Banff Springs Hotel, Sulphur Mountain and beyond. 

Optional admission to Banff Gondola Ride, one of the most exciting things to do in Canada. Step into the glass-enclosed gondola and enjoy the jaw-dropping view as you soar to the top of Sulphur Mountain at 7,486 ft (2,281 m). At the summit, click photos at the 360-degree observational deck, stroll on the Sulphur Mountain Boardwalk, or grab some treats at the eateries

Wake up early and enjoy a breakfast at your hotel, before you gear up for a full-day adventure that takes you through glaciers and ice fields. Get into your coach and settle down for exploration of one of the world’s largest non-polar ice fields.

Kick off the tour with a photo stop at Lake Louise. Leaving Lake Louise behind, we continue along the Icefield Parkway towards the glacier-fed Bow and Peyto Lake (visit when access permits).  We will stop briefly at Bow Lake to capture its breathtaking beauty. 

Turn back time to the Ice Age on your full-day guided Icefield Parkway Tour, which is one of the best things to do in Canada. As you travel along the Icefields Parkway, rated among the world’s most scenic highways, your Tour Director will provide step-on guide services to ensure your experience is both fun and informative! 

The drive will take you through the heart of Banff and Jasper National Parks on to the Columbia Icefield, the largest ice field and one of the most unique attractions in the Canadian Rockies. Once there, hop on to the massive Ice Explorer (admission included) for an hour-long glacier ride across shimmering ice, with spectacular views of snow-covered alpine mountains. Your guide will share fascinating facts about Canadian history and geology, and even show you where you can sample the cold, pure water that melts from the Athabasca Glacier. The Glacier Skywalk (included in tour) is a surreal experience that features wildlife, waterfalls, and fossils. Stride along the cliff-edge walkway to the glass-floored lookout, hanging 918 ft (280 m) above the Sunwapta Valley, and capture awe-inspiring views of the valleys, towering peaks, and large cornices and faraway ice fields. 

After an action-packed day of exploration, get on your coach and travel to Canmore, a picturesque mountain resort town. Check-in to your comfortable hotel and lounge about, grab a quick dinner and retire for the night.

Another day of beautiful sights and experiences await you today, so keep your cameras handy. 

Leaving Canmore this morning, your tour will head into the Yoho National Park in British Columbia where you will stop for a visit to the Natural Bridge and Emerald Lake.  From here, the tour will drive along the Trans Canada Highway, hemmed on both sides by towering ranges with forested slopes.  We will stop at Revelstoke, a world-class mountain town packed with history, culture, and warm people. See time stand still with a photo stop at Three Valley Gap Ghost Town, home to old town buildings filled with artifacts, old trains, and cars. Time permitting, we will also stop by at Canada’s Last Spike, which is the final railway spike driven into the Canadian Pacific Railway track in 1885 to mark the completion of the transcontinental railway line after five years of construction.

The tour will arrive in Kelowna closer to 6 PM.  On arrival, check-in to your hotel and make yourself comfortable or plan your evening at leisure in Kelowna. Choose to explore the downtown area, a cultural district that is home to over a dozen vineyards, a waterfront City Park and lots more.

Gear up for another day of amazing experiences on your Canada Rockies tour. After a relishing breakfast, we will depart Kelowna.  Driving through the Thompson Okanagan region, head west to North Vancouver, where we will get on the scenic Sea-to-Sky Highway. 

The Sea-to-Sky Highway offers gorgeous views of the beautiful Howe Sound which empties into the Pacific and snow-capped mountains hemming the highway.  Enroute to Whistler, break for a photo stop at Shannon Falls, which is British Columbia’s third-highest waterfall at a height of 335 meters. Get on the wooden boardwalk for a close-up view of the waterfall, which is famous for its rock climbing and nature trails. 

Continue on north on the Sea-to-Sky Highway towards Whistler.  Past the small town of Squamish, you will be driving through the mountains.  Keep your cameras ready for you may spot the occasional black bear, deer, elk and other wildlife along the edge of the forest skirting the highway.

On arriving into Whistler, check in for a relaxed evening.

This morning is free for you to explore the beautiful alpine town of Whistler on your own.  One of the best sights in Whistler is had by riding the Peak-2-Peak Gondola (opens only around 25 May of each year).
The Peak 2 Peak Gondola, a record-breaking tricable gondola lift connecting the Whistler mountain with the Blackcomb Mountain Peak.  Watch the machinery in action, as you step into the cherry red cabins for a ride that comes with spectacular 360-degree views of the mountains, glaciers, lakes, forests, and Whistler Village. The special glass-bottom gondolas will give you a unique bird’s-eye view of the valleys and forests below.

afternoon, depart for Vancouver and travel once again along the extremely popular Sea to Sky Highway, which offers plenty of gorgeous views with the sea on one side and the mountains on the other.

On arrival in Vancouver, your tour will proceed on a guided city tour of Vancouver.  The tour guide will share interesting details about the city’s top attractions. Start with a trip to Granville Island, which was once an industrial wasteland but is now a public space known for its unique artistic talent, shopping markets, incredible food offerings, and entertainment activities. Then, visit to Robson Street, a major shopping and commercial precinct lined with stores and eateries that draw in visitors from across the world. Uncover the ever-charming Gastown, a historic settlement that was the origin of today’s Vancouver, and marvel at the old buildings, visit the quaint stores, pose against vintage lampposts, and see the famous Gastown Steam Clock. Next, head to Stanley Park, the city’s first green space with several walking and cycling trails, blooming gardens, a miniature train, and the scenic Seawall, and enjoy a photo stop at the Totem Poles that are a showcase of the First Nations’ artistic traditions.

Your tour includes admission to the spectacular FlyOver Canada, an incredible multi-dimensional experience that uses state-of-the-art technology, movement, and special effects to give you the feeling of flying over the Great White North, making it one of the most unique things to do in Canada. 

Your Tour Director will sign off and depart once hotel check-in is completed.
